Understanding Types of Inner Authority

Every individual has a different inner authority that is meant to help make their decisions for them, instead of just relying on brainpower alone. The human mind is incredibly powerful, however, it can prevent us from unlocking our true genius gifts. Within us we have the capability to make decisions without second-guessing ourselves, allowing our power to come from within us instead of outsourcing it. We can know in an instant what to do or it may take us a few weeks to make major life decisions—both of which are totally okay! Our authority is dependent on which centers are open or defined in our body graph in human design. Here are the seven main types of inner authority you could have, based on this system.

Emotional Authority

An individual will have an emotional authority if their Solar Plexus is colored in on their body graph. This is the largest triangle chakra represented to the right and below the Heart center. This authority type was designed to take the time to gauge how something, someone, or an experience makes you feel. Put on the spot, this individual could potentially feel forced into making a decision that is not correct for them in the long term. Either influenced by the conditioning of others, their environments, greed, or impulsivity may be the driving forces for an emotional authority to make decisions that are not correct for them.

Finding emotional clarity through reflection, physical space, and allowing the emotional wave to settle allows an individual with this authority to return to a calm and collected state, empowering them to make a decision. Over half of the world’s population has an emotional authority, so even if you do not have that center defined in your graph, all people will come into interactions where we must allow our own body’s intuition to guide us, as opposed to letting our emotions get the best of us.

Sacral Authority

There are only two energy types that can have a sacral, or gut, authority. This can be either a Generator or Manifesting Generator, as these are the two energy types that have a Sacral chakra. If you are a Generator or Man Gen with an open Solar Plexus and defined Sacral center, this is your authority. If you think of the life force energy-giving Sacral chakra as the power bar attached to the outlet in the wall, then the Generator and Man Gen are always plugged in, with access to their own power. At the same time, they are also always searching for an outlet to give their energy to.

The Sacral center is directly linked to an individual’s sex organs and gut, allowing for the rise and fall of energy throughout the body. When there is a rise in energy from the gut, this will cause someone to physically feel a resounding yes when posed a yes/no question. There will in turn be a responding no if the gut does not want to interact with what is in front of it. Making a decision with a sacral authority may initially feel impulsive, and it may take time to consciously understand what is a yes, no, or not now. But if you feel like you have to explain why you’re making a decision, it may be your mind deciding and not your Sacral center.

Heart Authority

Only a Projector or Manifestor can have an ego authority. You will have a heart (or ego) authority if you are Projector with an open Spleen, Solar Plexus, and Throat center but a defined G-Center and Heart. You will also have a heart authority if you are a Manifestor with an open Spleen and Solar Plexus but a defined Throat center. This authority comes down to an individual’s self-understanding of what they want to make happen.

Understanding their specific desires is all that this particular individual needs to get clear on. They either want or do not want something (the Ego and Heart are specific) in the moment, without their emotions clouding their aura. Writing and speaking aloud sentences that begin with “I want…” is a perfect way for this individual to get in touch with their inner authority. Sounds too good to be true? If this is your authority, try it and see where life takes you!

Splenic Authority

Are you really good at finishing people’s sentences? Can you always intuitively tell which direction you should be heading? Are you always thinking of someone right before they call? Then maybe you have a splenic authority! The body’s senses are extra heightened for someone with a splenic authority, giving them instantaneous awareness of their environment and circumstances.

Only a Projector or Manifestor can have a splenic authority. Both the Solar Plexus and Sacral chakras must be open for a Projector or Manifestor to have a splenic authority. The five senses are the secret weapon for individuals with splenic authority. Think: being able to taste the energetics of their surroundings before engaging, hearing frequencies that are particular to their body, and noticing smells that give themselves memories or inclinations that cannot be described as logical. If your mind begins to run patterns of uncertainty and fear behind a decision, then consider whether your instantaneous splenic authority has been ignored.

G-Center Authority

Having a g-center authority, or self-certified authority, is quite literally all about speaking your truth in this lifetime. Only Projectors can have a self-certified authority, as the Solar Plexus, Sacral, Spleen, and Ego center must all be open with the G-Center (or self-center) defined and connected to the Throat chakra.

Individuals are designed to speak their truth, to speak their identity, and to listen to their own voice during communication. The Throat chakra is the center of manifestation in human design and, for a self-certified Projector, proclaiming the direction they want to take their life is imperative to achieving what they want.

While speaking your desires aloud, someone with this authority will notice the sensations of opening or closing in their chest. These sensations will either push them to engage or disengage with something or someone. Being directed by others does not serve them in this lifetime, as they have to come to their own clarity in decision-making by trusting their inner guidance. True self-expression is this individual’s secret to success.

Mental Authority

A commonly misunderstood authority, having a mental authority is about your opinion and how it matters to you. Only a Projector can have a mental authority because only the Throat chakra, Ajna, and/or Crown can be defined on a body graph. People with mental authority are razor-sharp individuals with a strong grasp on their words and point of view.

Designed to stick to their guns, these individuals rely on their judgments of how they see their world. This is a large piece of the puzzle of how they make decisions for themselves. Often coming across as the most rational, logical person in the room, they make effortless observations, gain perspective, and tap into their inner knowing at all times.

This authority type relies on external clues to set their internal compass. This particular Projector’s genius is how they see what the world needs, leading them to make the decisions that are going to bring them everything they desire.

Lunar/Outer Authority

Every month of the year has a theme, just like the signs of the zodiac correspond with the ever-changing seasons. Similarly, the lunar/outer authority responds to the changing moon cycles. A Reflector is the only energy type that can have a lunar/outer authority in which they are affected by energies that live outside of their bodies. There is a lesson, or message, in each month that a Reflector can tap into to better understand themselves and what is happening around them.

Reflectors are called lunar beings because their physical, mental, and spiritual bodies are all connected to the cycles of the moon, whereas the rest of the energy types are all solar beings connected to the sun. All nine of a Reflector’s energy centers are open, or white, on their body graph, heightening their awareness of their environments. This means that the way they respond to external situations can vary greatly depending on the time of month.

Looking to be surprised by what this world has to offer them, a Reflector has the wisdom of this lifetime to practice patience and the understanding to live by their own rules. By taking the time and space to process decisions alone, Reflectors are making sure that no other feelings, fears, or agendas affect their sensitive, but strong-willed nature. This does not mean that reflectors need to be solitary—they engage wholeheartedly with their world and communities—what their authority allows for is the time and calmness to decide things on their own terms.
