Welcome to October’s tarotscopes! We start the month off in the midst of Libra season, and one of 2026’s most highly anticipated transits arrives on October 3: Venus retrograde in Scorpio. This Venus retrograde comes with a kick, and will backspin even further into Libra later in the month… but we’ll get there!
On October 10, we have a new moon in Libra, asking us to be honest about where we’re creating chaos in our own lives and setting intentions around true balance that starts from within. On October 15, Pluto (the planet of secrets, power, and transformation) stations direct, ending its retrograde in Aquarius. The first half of the month is all about gaining clarity by detaching from the outcome, enjoying the present moment, and being honest with ourselves and others about what we want and need out of life.
Scorpio season begins this year on October 23, and immediately we start to see what’s been hiding under the surface. Then, on October 24, Mercury retrograde begins in Scorpio. With two inner planets in retrograde in intense, alchemical Scorpio, things are bound to heat up and become more high-stakes in our personal relationships. Scorpio thrives on transparency and trust, so anyone who’s unable to give you both of these might need to be set up on the shelf for the remainder of October. The very next day, Venus retrograde moves back into Libra, and the day after that, on October 26, we have a full moon in Taurus. If the first half of the month was about being honest with ourselves, the second half requires you to be honest with others.
Let your tarotscopes for October help you navigate the month ahead with clarity and confidence:
Aries & Aries Rising: Six of Pentacles
<imageviewer>1</imageviewer>
October asks you to look honestly at the balance of giving and receiving in your life. The Six of Pentacles reminds you that generosity is beautiful, but constantly being the person who gives, fixes, pays, initiates, or saves everyone else can quietly become resentment and frustration. You need to be poured into as much as you pour into everyone else! Venus retrograde starts in Scorpio on October 3 and may bring old financial issues back up to the surface. Money and love are mirroring each other for you this month. It’s important to ask yourself where you are overextending to keep a relationship or habit alive. You do not need to prove yourself to anyone else if it means abandoning yourself. The right people will want to meet you where you’re at, and will feel honored to meet you halfway. Let October teach you that receiving support is not a weakness. If anything, it is the strongest and most brave thing you can do for yourself this month.
Taurus & Taurus Rising: The Devil
<imageviewer>2</imageviewer>
There is something you are finally ready to stop pretending. The Devil can represent attachments, temptation, obsession, or a pattern that feels so familiar that you can’t even notice it’s happening anymore. With Venus retrograde in Scorpio starting on October 3, relationships, desire, money, and power dynamics in your life will become impossible to ignore. You may realize that something you once mistook for chemistry was actually anxiety. Your old survival skills are being acknowledged so that they can finally be laid to rest in October. The Taurus full moon on October 26 will shine light on this realization in a way that you can feel in your body: what actually feels good, safe, sustainable, and nourishing to you? You are not being asked to become perfectly detached or “above” temptation. You are being asked to become conscious so that you can work with your human feelings rather than being swept away by them. You will start to get your power back the minute you stop giving it all away to something (or someone) that cannot love you back.
Gemini & Gemini Rising: Three of Cups
<imageviewer>3</imageviewer>
October is here to encourage you to spend time with people who make life feel bigger, lighter, and more fun. The Three of Cups is a beautiful reminder that friendship, community, collaboration, and genuine moments of celebration are not distractions from your goals. These moments of joy and bliss are the whole reason we’re alive! The Libra new moon on October 10 might introduce a new social circle, creative collaboration, or group of people who make you feel like yourself again. But Venus retrograde could also bring old connections or feelings about social circles back up to the surface. Pay attention to who celebrates you without secretly competing with you. Who can hear your good news without spinning it and making it about themselves? By the Taurus full moon on October 26, you may realize that abundance is not just money or achievements. Sometimes it’s as simple as having a table full of people you actually want to sit with.
Cancer & Cancer Rising: The Sun
<imageviewer>4</imageviewer>
October has a beautiful message for you: you are allowed to be happy without waiting for something to go wrong! If you knew there was no other shoe waiting to drop, how would you be spending your time? The Sun is one of the clearest cards in the deck, bringing visibility, confidence, warmth, creativity, and a sense that life is finally moving with you rather than against you. The Libra new moon on October 10 can open a new chapter around home, family, emotional security, or the environment you’re in. Let yourself make choices based on what brings you joy, not simply what feels familiar. This is a month to truly thrive rather than survive! There is also something powerful about being seen more fully this month. You do not have to minimize yourself to make the other people around you more comfortable. Around the time that Pluto stations direct on October 15, something you buried a long time ago may finally become palatable to you. Facing things head-on helps you feel less afraid of them. Remember: you are not who you were when the story began. You’re allowed to write brand new, twist endings and crescendo chapters.
Leo & Leo Rising: Seven of Swords
<imageviewer>5</imageviewer>
October is asking you to get very honest with yourself about what you are avoiding. The Seven of Swords isn’t always about betrayal or deception by someone else. Sometimes it arrives to shine light on the story we tell ourselves because the truth would require us to make a different choice. Venus retrograde in Scorpio starts on October 3 and may expose some resentment, unspoken desires, or a situation where you have been pretending everything is fine rather than facing it head-on. Try to watch your words and your assumptions. You do not need to announce every move you’re making before things have solidified, either. Some plans need privacy while they are still becoming something. Instead of making conversations about what’s brewing, you may be revisiting a conversation with someone you thought was finished. Tell the truth, most importantly to yourself, in the midst of all of this. Your freedom is on the other side of being honest, respecting your own boundaries, and not being afraid to use both of these tools going forward as needed!
Virgo & Virgo Rising: Death
<imageviewer>6</imageviewer>
Something is ending in your life, and honestly, you may be more ready for it than you realize. Death is not a punishment card. It shows up for us in the moments when we can finally admit that something has completed its purpose and cannot come into the next chapter. October’s Venus retrograde may have you reconsidering your close relationships, top priorities, finances, or the version of yourself you have been trying to maintain for other people’s approval. Around the Libra new moon on October 10, you may begin to understand what needs to be released in order for something healthier to take its place. Do not cling to an old identity, situation, or person simply because you worked hard to get it. You are not losing your life by letting go of something (or someone) you’ve outgrown. You are making room for one that actually fits to arrive!
Libra & Libra Rising: Ace of Wands
<imageviewer>7</imageviewer>
A spark is returning to your life in October. The Ace of Wands represents our deepest desires, inspiration, spirituality, chemistry, creativity, confidence, and that unmistakable feeling of being excited about what could happen next. Imagine being excited about the unknown rather than fearing it. You have the potential to get there this month! The Libra new moon on October 10 is particularly potent for you because it gives you an opportunity to choose yourself again and begin this next chapter from a much more authentic place. Venus retrograde starts this month and enters Libra on October 25, which may complicate relationships or bring an old flame back around, but that does not mean you have to repeat your old stories or patterns. Ask yourself who (or what) actually makes you feel alive. By the end of the month, you may have a much clearer sense of what you want and what you are no longer willing to settle for. You do not need permission to want more out of life, your connections, or the opportunities at your fingertips. Follow the spark all month long, and it will lead you exactly where you’re meant to be!
Scorpio & Scorpio Rising: The High Priestess
<imageviewer>8</imageviewer>
You already know what’s coming… October may be giving you evidence for something your intuition already understood weeks, months, or even years ago. The High Priestess asks you to listen to your own inner voice underneath the noise, especially as Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 3. This is not the month to force answers, chase people, or demand certainty before it naturally arrives. There is power in staying silent and quietly observing. Let people rat themselves out. If you’re conscious, there is also a great power in waiting. You don’t always need to be on offense. Mercury retrograde in Scorpio later this month may bring old conversations, secrets, memories, or relationships back around, but you do not have to react immediately, if at all. Your intuition is not the same thing as anxiety, and your anxiety is not the same thing as butterflies, and October is here to teach you the difference. Around the Taurus full moon on October 26, something that has been quietly developing may become too loud to ignore. Trust yourself and all that you know above anyone else!
Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising: Five of Wands
<imageviewer>9</imageviewer>
October may feel a little more chaotic than you would prefer, but that does not necessarily mean something is wrong. The Five of Wands can bring competition, conflicting opinions, tension, or several people trying to pull you in different directions. Venus retrograde starts in Scorpio and may make you more aware of what’s happening beneath the surface, especially in spaces and relationships where you have been trying to keep the peace. You do not have to win every argument. You do, however, need to know what is actually worth fighting for. The Libra new moon on October 10 will shift your social circles and introduce new friends, collaborators, or business opportunities, but using your discernment is key here. Not everyone who challenges you is against you, and not everyone who agrees with you is good for you… By the end of October, you will know how to choose the battles that bring you closer to the life you want rather than just trying to prove that you were right as the goal post of living a good life. It’s okay to be wrong and happy sometimes!
Capricorn & Capricorn Rising: Judgement
<imageviewer>10</imageviewer>
October is giving you a chance to answer a question you have been avoiding: are you ready to stop living according to an outdated version of rules and goals? Judgement is here to help you focus on awakening, reckoning, forgiveness, and making a choice based on everything you know now rather than everything you knew back then. Pluto stations direct in Aquarius around October 15, helping something that has been quietly transforming beneath the surface finally move forward. You may realize that a decision you thought was permanent is actually yours to rework as needed. Very little is actually permanent in this lifetime. Sometimes, we just have to change the variables ourselves (how long it takes, who’s involved, etc.) Old relationships, milestones, or financial choices you made are coming back up for review with Venus retrograde this month. Just because you’re reconsidering things doesn’t mean you’re regressing. Sometimes you have to look back just long enough to understand how far you’ve come. You are being called into a bigger life. Be sure to pick up when it rings!
Aquarius & Aquarius Rising: The World
<imageviewer>11</imageviewer>
You are closing out a chapter once and for all, and The World shows up to let you fully recognize how far you have come! You have been through things that changed your perspective recently, and your priorities, or your sense of who you are, may have shifted as a result of this big surprise. October is all about integrating that lesson rather than immediately running away or disengaging. Pluto stations direct in Aquarius on October 15, bringing forward momentum back to a deep personal transformation that has been unfolding for some time. You might be feeling ready to make something official, submit a project, leave a place, change your identity in some way, or simply stop explaining yourself to everyone from this month onward. Instead of always wanting more, you’re being encouraged to sit and celebrate all that you’ve done for yourself. You do not need to immediately turn this month’s accomplishment into another assignment. Sometimes the most evolved thing you can do is look around and say, “Wow, I really made it”.
Pisces & Pisces Rising: Temperance
<imageviewer>12</imageviewer>
October is all about finding the middle ground between extreme views and behaviors. Temperance arrives to show you when you’ve been living in an all-or-nothing way, and it seems that your soul is ready for something more sustainable. Venus retrograde starts on October 3 and might bring old patterns or relationship dynamics back into focus for you, but you are not required to repeat them in the same way simply because they feel familiar. The Libra new moon on October 10 encourages you to create more balance around the way you approach intimacy, trust, and the ways you’ve been merging your life with other people. Then, when Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 24, this will give you permission to slow down before making any major emotional decisions. Healing does not always look like some big dramatic change. Sometimes it looks like sleeping enough, choosing the calmer person, eating the nourishing meal, taking the day off, talking more kindly to yourself after a mistake, and refusing to abandon yourself just because someone else feels uncomfortable. October is teaching you that peace can actually be a lifelong lifestyle, not just a temporary moment. You’ve outgrown this. It’s time to show up as the new, mature you!
